Nicholas Scaffidi began his Tenshinkan journey at 8 years old and earned his Shodan (first degree black belt) in 2018 and his Nidan (second degree black belt) in 2019 both under Shihan Jonathan. He tested in front of Kancho Miwa at the Tenshinkan World Headquarters in Japan for his Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in 2025.

Nick graduated with Honors from Stissing Mountain High School and BOCES CTI and he holds a degree in Criminal Justice from Dutchess Community College.

He is currently serving as a United States Marine Reservist, Infantry. At the Infantry Training Battalion, Nick earned a meritorious promotion and won the "Gung Ho" Award for his class. Nick is CPR & First Aid Certified as well as a Certified NYS Security Guard.
